Daniela and Jakob Prantl and their kids Raphaela, Andreas and Anna-Lena are the perfect representatives of the real Oetztal: down-to-earth, nature-loving and unpretentious in their management of the Gampe Thaya. Agriculture is also part of the Gampe Thaya with cows from the breed “Tyrolean grey cattle”, the real passion of Jakob Prantl. His son Andreas supports him with all workings around the agriculture.

Delicacies from the mountains

Lot’s of the ingredients served here come from the own agriculture or local farmers of Soelden area. The milk is collected from the cows behind the mountain hut while the sausages and the cheese are both home-made.

History of your hosts

Daniela grew up in Family Riml in Sölden and managed lots of years together with Jakob the Hotel Soelderhof. Jakob grew up in Zwieselstein on a Farm and he made an apprenticeship as a carpenter. After that the family went up on the mountains to run the restaurant Gampe Thaya. They created a place for silence, culinary delights and nature. Only Tyrolean dishes, made by local products are served here.

Raphaela, the oldest daughter of Daniela and Jakob entertains the guests with dishes and drinks, Anna-Lena supports her father Jakob in the kitchen. Son Andreas carries out for all work around the agriculture and the restaurant.

A great team of local employees supports Family Prantl on their mountain hut, in summer and in winter.
